Sweet n’ Tangy SunButter BBQ Sauce

Team SunButter

Hey SunButter friends! I am so excited about my latest recipe using SunButter! I am usually in the kitchen creating sweet treats with SunButter, but this time I wanted to create something that wasn’t a dessert.

For the longest time I have thought a dollop of SunButter was just what BBQ sauce needed to give it that special flavor. Due to my son’s food allergies, I often make him BBQ sauce and it’s one of his favorite things to dip chicken or pork in. So, since SunButter almost always makes everything better I gave it a shot!

With the 4th of July coming up, what a perfect time to whip up a batch of allergy-friendly BBQ sauce that is just bursting with flavor…kind of like fireworks for your grilled chicken or ribs!

Here’s what you’ll need….

Sweet n’ Tangy SunButter BBQ Sauce Ingredients:
3 cups ketchup
1/4 – 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar (depending on how tangy you like your sauce)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons SunButter (I used Natural)

Directions:
1. In a small saucepot, heat the ketchup over medium-low heat.
2. Stir in the remainder of the ingredients, except SunButter.
3. Once the BBQ sauce is mixed thoroughly and warm throughout, stir in the SunButter until well incorporated.
4. Let BBQ sauce simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Enjoy!

Enjoy this BBQ sauce on all of your favorite grilled meats this 4th of July and all summer long!
