SunButter For The Holidays

Team SunButter

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we are all desperately trying to remember as much as we can. When the holidays roll around, some of us are lucky if we remember what day it is let alone when we last stocked up on holiday supplies. Whether it be reading labels, making sure our favorite allergy-friendly products are tucked away in our kitchens for when we need them or just every day goals like, well, eating – sometimes we just forget things. Sometimes, we all just need a little help along the way. Admit it- we all get a little off-the-wall sometimes. We all scramble to get the foods that everyone wants for their favorite meals and don’t forget waiting in line to get those meal items. Being surrounded by cranky people who just want to get home while hearing and seeing bunches of holiday décor and music; did we really just buy 1,000 candy canes because they were on sale? It can all seem like a big blur. Then, the dreaded moment that we all have no matter how hard we try not to.

Because We Forget

We all do it. It’s not on purpose- we wrote it down on our list! And yet, we realize as we are setting up for that special night with the family that we have forgotten something. One of the most common things that people forget are candle holders. We bought the candles. We brought them home. We even made sure to put them with the rest of the decorations so we would remember to use them this year. Then, we go to arrange them and we have nothing to put them in. SunButter can help! In a pinch, remove the tops of a SunButter jar and fill it with a typical kitchen staple (such as gluten free oats, uncooked rice, candy sprinkles) and insert your tea lights. Color coordinate by using all of the same colors or mix and match depending on which holiday you celebrate or the color theme of your decorations.

Because We Create

During the times that we don’t feel very organized or creative, we all need to remember that creating something does not always have to be stupendous. When your brain is on overload and you truly want to create, then stop over thinking and just keep it simple. Think about what you have and what you can use. Ask your family what ingredients they would like to see in a recipe this year and enlist them to help come up with some new ideas. When you create recipes, they do not have to be picture-perfect or complicated. Recipes should include your most loved, allergy-safe products with a dash of love. By taking just a few minutes to talk and step back from the holiday pressures, we can refocus and recharge on the single best energizer-time with our family. Here is a perfect example that uses SunButter in an easy recipe:

Because JUST Because

Many say that life should not be about food but it is. How can it not be?! We nourish with food, we reward with food, we crave food and we find comfort in food. What is better than walking into a home where someone is cooking or baking? What is better than memories from your childhood of familiar smells and recipes that Grandparents made? Most of all- what is better than baking and having that tantalizing smell linger in your hair for the rest of the day? Most likely, not much. Although we need to cook to eat, there should never need to be a reason to make food, not even with food allergies. Amazing products like SunButter have given us reasons to keep our recipe safe as well as delicious. Next time someone asks why you are baking rather than buying offer them a taste to show them how much affection can be tasted in something that you made right in your own kitchen. Home is where the heart is and SunButter is where the love comes from.
