Chocolate-Minty Mousse-Smoothie

Team SunButter

I am so blessed – I love life, have a total devotion to living it fully, creating and enjoying amazing food and consciously sharing as much laughter, love and yes, delish food and drink with family, friends, colleagues and clients. Join me in a toast to us all once you make this.

It began as an “I really want a creamy thick chocolate smoothie today” longing, and it’s new recipe time. Out comes the “I love my Harley Pasternak (oh-so-affordable) high speed blender”. While rivaling if not superseding the features of other popular power blenders, the price point is perfect. Check them out  – I know you’ll be most impressed.

Now back to the smoothie – first I used the blender to whip my matcha powder and milk to a frothy steamy latte, so I had this to sip on while I prepped the smoothie. From here it’s a simple toss of ingredients into the no-need to wash it right now blender, and voila, this creamy concoction that is thick, sweet, sassy and heavenly. If you are celebrating a special occasion this is a perfect recipe for brunch and/or dessert.

1/4 small avocado – approx 2 tbsp.
1 small banana, chopped frozen chunks
2 tsp hemp seeds
2 tsp flax seeds

Approx. 3/4 cup crushed ice or as desired
Garnish ideas – Fresh berries, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs, granola, etc.

1. Measure all of the ingredients into your power blender in the order above. Blend using the tamper beginning on low and powering it up to high. Add additional liquid if/as needed.
2. Pour into a tall glass, garnish as desired and enjoy this creamy, dreamy chocolate-mint treat with a spoon and a latte of your choice.
(If you prefer a thinner sip-able smoothie simply add more liquid.)

Teri’s Tips:
PS– no high speed blender? You can still make this, but stick with the softer greens such as Spinach or Romaine for a creamy, smooth texture (Frisee, Chard or Kale may not blend as well). I infuse this blend with added nutrients – electrolytes via Liquid Light, Maca root Powder, and acerola cherry powder (Vit C). In the winter, I add Vit D as well. Find the suggested products at quality health food stores or order on line at www.sunwarrior.comwww.rawelements.ca, or www.sunwarrior.ca or .com.
