6 Must-Try Waffle Recipes

Team SunButter

Whether or not you’re traveling for spring break, who could say no to making like Sweden and celebrating Waffle Day.  Technically, March 25th is “Our Lady’s Day” but the name “Vårfrudagen” sounds way too close to “Våffeldagen,”  (“Waffle Day”) to not celebrate.  According to Wikipedia, “Waffles are typically eaten on this day.”  You don’t have to tell us twice!

We’re confident that just about anyone can make a standard waffle, so we’re up-ing the ante.  Good luck deciding which one to try first!

You’ve had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  This is that. But in waffle form.  Plus it’s made with SunButter (everyone’s favorite peanut butter alternative) so it’s safe for the growing population with nut allergies.

Who says waffles have to be sweet? Literally no one after trying this recipe.  Dress it up however you want, so long as you smother it in the sauce. It’s lick-your-fingers good.

Waffles are a solid choice for breakfast, brunch, breakfast for dinner…  so why not waffles for dessert? Add chocolate and voila! This is everything bressert (breakfast for dessert) has ever wanted to be. Examine this waffle and repeat after me: “Yes. Yes. YES.”

Because the only thing better than a waffle is pizza.  Or the only thing better than pizza is a waffle.  We couldn’t decide, so…. This.

Fit for a king—get it?  But seriously, what isn’t made better by adding bacon? Waffles are no exception.

SunButterWaffleBLTSB-BLT Waffle Sandwich
According to food historian John Mariani, the BLT is the second most popular sandwich in the US. The ham sandwich slipped in for first (who’d have guessed!) We’re confident that our SB-BLT Waffle sandwich will soon upset them both.  Try the sandwich first, look up how to become a food historian later.

Stickin’ closer to your roots?  That’s fine, too! Save your favorite waffle recipe for later and celebrate National Waffle Day on August 24 (the date of a U.S. patent on a waffle iron).
